Resourcery Group are working with a PE backed company that are looking to bring on board a Finance Business Partner into their commercial team in Chester. This is a 12 month fixed term contract offering hybrid working (3 office/2 WFH) paying in the region of £65,000 - £75,000 per annum. This role is a key role within the company as you will be liaising with finance and non-finance colleagues with the communication of the numbers to support commercial decision making.

The Finance Business Partner role:

  • Establish robust relationships across the business, ensuring frequent collaboration
  • Understand stakeholders’ information needs and effectively communicate and implement these throughout the business
  • Educate the business on financial and commercial data to empower informed decision-making
  • Critically assess business performance and provide constructive feedback and solutions for improvement
  • Work closely with the data community to ensure the data strategy is in sync with the overall strategic vision of the business
  • Support stakeholders in understanding the business’s performance metrics and trends
  • Partner with the finance team to support and challenge budget holders, ensuring financial accountability and efficiency
  • Support and develop the budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Monitor and forecast the business’s cash flow, working pro actively with stakeholders to enhance the cash position
  • Provide ad hoc financial projections for various projects and investments
  • Develop and maintain rolling forecasts and ongoing reviews of profitability and variances to budget
  • Manage the creation and distribution of business reports, including financial performance, sales, marketing and key performance indicators
  • Ensure the continued accuracy of data and reports
  • Provide clear visibility and communication of performance against budgets and prior periods
  • Support the preparation of information required by third parties such as regulators and investors
  • Analyse business performance and key indicators to identify improvement areas
  • Provide detailed insights and effectively communicate figures through compelling storytelling

The ideal candidate background:

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, or ACCA) with post-qualification experience in Commercial Finance
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships across the business
  • Comfortable working with and presenting to senior management
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident in asking questions and challenging business performance and processes
  • Ability to work pro actively and effectively with multiple departments across the business
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership in all tasks and responsibilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Advanced IT skills, particularly in Excel
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to solve complex problems
  • Excellent organisational skills, with effective time management and the ability to prioritise and work under pressure
