Town Planner
Location: Chester

About the Role:
We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Town Planner to join an established and growing Planning Team. In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues across the wider business to identify cross-divisional opportunities, develop client relationships, and deliver innovative planning solutions for diverse projects. From rural diversification schemes to bespoke residential developments, you will lead on challenging and rewarding projects that make a tangible impact.

This is a permanent, full-time position based on a 37.5-hour week, with a hybrid working policy to support flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and prioritise your own caseload, ensuring client expectations are met.
  • Deliver high-quality planning consultancy services and advice to clients.
  • Conduct initial site reviews and develop tailored site-specific strategies.
  • Prepare, submit, and manage planning applications and reports for varied projects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, planning officers, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and project manage professionals such as architects, landscape designers, and technical consultants.
  • Negotiate with planning authorities to achieve favourable outcomes.
  • Lead and participate in project meetings, community engagements, and consultations.
  • Share knowledge and support team members while collaborating on joint projects.
  • Manage budgets, time recording, and invoicing efficiently.

What We're Looking For:

  • MRTPI qualified or working towards submission.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Excellent team player with a collaborative approach.
  • Strong IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work delivery.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
  • A solid understanding of the planning market and regulatory environment.
