Responsibilities:
Develop and implement logistics plans to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to the construction site.
Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to manage the supply chain effectively.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring that materials are available when needed while minimising excess stock.
Coordinate transportation logistics, including scheduling deliveries and managing transportation providers.
Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials on-site, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, including delivery schedules, inventory logs, and equipment usage.
Ensure that all materials received meet quality standards and specifications, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
Supervise logistics staff, providing training and support to enhance productivity and performance.
Address logistical challenges as they arise, developing and implementing effective solutions to minimise disruptions.
Liaise with project managers, site managers, and other stakeholders to keep them informed about logistics status and any potential issues.
Promote and enforce health and safety standards within the logistics operation, conducting regular safety audits.
Assist in budget management by monitoring logistics costs and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Qualifications:
A relevant vocational qualification, such as an NVQ in Logistics or Warehousing, can also be beneficial.
Previous experience in logistics, supply chain management, or warehouse operations, preferably within the construction industry.
Supervisory experience is highly desirable.
Forklift Operator License (if applicable) for overseeing warehouse operations.
Availability to work Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
