A leading construction contractor with decades of successful trading behind them are looking for an established Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This business are offering a rare opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to train and progress within their business under the supportive wing of an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager. This business work with an impressive array of blue chip clients and boast a strong pipeline of secured work.

About the Role

Dependant on your level of experience and training, you will work to support a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator in the pricing of tenders and the running of live jobs from procurement through to final accounts. You will work between the office and site, liaising with clients and subcontractors.

Compile and submit valuations to client.
Compile and present internal valuations reporting on profitability, forecasting and change control.
Procure and commercially manage sub-contract packages of works.
Provide commercial control by working to the financial targets of each contract to help ensure that all costs incurred during the works take cognisance of the tender budget and allowances.
Understand and monitor construction programmes incorporating key project dates.
Along with a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will represent the company at post tender, pre-start, progress, valuation and final account meetings with clients and sub-contractors.
Supporting with take offs, pricing tenders
Along with a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will represent the company at internal meetings e.g. handover, valuation and cost review

About You

You are a established Assistant Quantity Surveyor with at least twelve months industry experience, however candidates with 2/3 years + experience would ideal.You have completed your degree in Quantity Surveying, or are working towards completion of your degree on day release. You are sufficient in all Microsoft office packages, in particular excel. You are a confident communicator both in person, on the phone and over email. You are ambitious and keen to progress your career.

What's on Offer

Salary is negotiable dependant on experience between 30-40k plus company van/car allowance. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Company bonus scheme and flexible working. Full details available on request.
