Location: Chester2 days in the office - and 3 days from home
Salary:Up to £47k plus excellent benefits
Hours:37.5 per week, Monday to Friday

Overview of role:

Main purpose of role

  • To provide high quality, pragmatic, and efficient advice to SME clients and, as required, to LME and Mid-Market clients.
  • To provide brilliant service to a portfolio of own clients or as part of an advisory or pyramid team. Core areas of work and accountabilities
  • To provide high quality and legally compliant advice and guidance to clients to provide the best fixed fee legal and ER advisory service in the UK.
  • To provide clients with supporting information and documentation to assist them in implementing advice given.
  • To make sure all advice to clients is timely, efficient, accurate, practical, and commercial.
  • To liaise with employee representatives in respect of early conciliation and associated issues.
  • To adhere to requirements and relevant professional standards in dealings with clients.
  • To help clients achieve their commercial objectives, whilst also complying with the law, or clearly advising on the consequences of none or partial compliance where this is being considered by the client.
  • To undertake external client training as required
  • To deliver training and provide support to paralegals/trainees.

Account Management

  • Successfully build and maintain trusted relationships with your clients and become their trusted advisor for employment law queries and challenges.
  • Support senior advisers with proposals and prospective clients meetings.
  • Contribute to the efficiencies of the team through identifying and sharing process improvements, shared resources, and continuous improvement input.
  • Promote initiatives, service offerings and wider company services to the benefit of your client, capitalising on opportunities that will develop the business.
  • Work closely with commercial team to provide insight and analysis on client usage to assist their renewal conversations with clients.

Administration

  • Maintain a detailed working knowledge of operating procedures, particularly those relating to contracts and handbooks, and to ensure that those procedures are followed.
  • To work closely with your team to ensure the departments KPIs are consistently achieved.
Team and personal development
  • To maintain an up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of employment law.
  • To highlight to their Head of Team or Director any developmental needs and to apply themselves diligently to any development or training plan put in place.
  • Proactively manage your professional and personal development taking personal responsibility for identifying opportunities to continue and obtain your relevant professional CPD requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of the team as a whole and identify and contribute to internal continuous improvement initiatives.


Requirements
So what experience and qualifications will you need?

  • Either a qualified legal professional (Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive) or relevant equivalent HR/ER qualification and / or experience.
  • Candidates with more than 2 years experience delivering EL & ER advice in other legal or
  • HR settings.
  • A newly qualified legal professional with a minimum of 2 years experience as a trainee/paralegal.
  • Good technical and up to date knowledge of employment law
  • Team Player
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A passion for delivering an excellent service
