About the Role:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at a well-established school in Chester. This rewarding role involves providing tailored support to students with a range of emotional, social, and behavioural needs. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with behavioural, emotional, and social challenges.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
- Promote positive behaviour strategies and help students develop coping mechanisms.
- Monitor and record studentsā progress and share feedback with teachers and support staff.
- Support students during lessons, ensuring they remain engaged and focused.
- Help create a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Build positive relationships with students, encouraging their personal and academic growth.
- Liaise with parents and guardians to ensure consistency in support.
Key Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with behavioural or special educational needs (SEN).
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with teaching staff.
- A good understanding of child development and behaviour management strategies.
- Relevant qualifications (such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
