About the Role:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at a well-established school in Chester. This rewarding role involves providing tailored support to students with a range of emotional, social, and behavioural needs. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with behavioural, emotional, and social challenges.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Promote positive behaviour strategies and help students develop coping mechanisms.
  • Monitor and record studentsā€™ progress and share feedback with teachers and support staff.
  • Support students during lessons, ensuring they remain engaged and focused.
  • Help create a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Build positive relationships with students, encouraging their personal and academic growth.
  • Liaise with parents and guardians to ensure consistency in support.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with behavioural or special educational needs (SEN).
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with teaching staff.
  • A good understanding of child development and behaviour management strategies.
  • Relevant qualifications (such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
