Elevation Recruitment is excited to be recruiting a Key Account Manager for a global business based in Chesterfield. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing and enhancing relationships with key customers accounts, all while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth case handling for our range of products and services. Your primary goal will be to contribute to the growth, revenue, and profitability of your account base by fostering strong, positive interactions with customers and internal teams.

Key Account Manager Role & Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with designated key customer accounts, agents, and distributors.
  • Identify and maximise opportunities within your designated territories
  • Ensure you meet and exceed targets, with a focus on a positive and proactive approach to sales and customer engagement.
  • Handle system and retrofit quotes, including pricing, issuing, and follow-up.
  • Ensure accurate technical specifications and customer preferences are met in each proposal.
  • Track and report sales performance metrics such as Hit Rates, Gross Margin targets.
  • Drive up-selling and cross-selling opportunities for additional products and services.
  • Occasionally support exhibitions and travel for face-to-face meetings with agents, distributors, and customers.
  • Ensure a positive customer experience and strengthen the company’s reputation in all interactions.

Key Account Manager Skills & Experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience managing customer accounts preferably within a technical sales environment.
  • Experience within the marine or maritime industry is highly desirable but not essential
  • Proven ability to communicate and sell technical products to both B2B and B2C customers.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and negotiation skills across various platforms, including face-to-face, phone, and written communication.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for reporting and analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and market trends to stay ahead of competitors.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required, typically less than 10% of the year.
