Project Engineer | Chesterfield | Up to £45,000

The Opportunity:

Ford and Stanley Talent Services Group are exclusively partnered with a manufacturing business based in Chesterfield who specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of safety equipment which is crucial to the rail industry.  

The role of the project engineer is to guide the business through cradle to grave engineering projects related to the product portfolio. In addition, they are looking to the project engineer into an engineering signatory, making them an engineering authority within the business.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead turnkey engineering projects – managing the engineering from cradle to grave
  • Working with the Engineering Director trained to become an engineering authority
  • Innovating ideas for Research and Development
  • Defining and refining specific ideas clarity, coherence, and structure on projects
  • Technical oversight and troubleshooting
  • Customer liaison and support

Candidate Essentials  

  • A minimum of a National Diploma in Engineering
  • Previous experience of working within a dual basis heavy engineer environment with strong electrical experience.  
  • The ability to work as part of a focused team delivering projects of all size and type with the ability to take responsibility of actions and ensuring delivery of projects on time and on budget.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • The confidence and autonomy to lead and make important decisions.


The role will be based onsite in Chesterfield 4 to 5 times a week.
