Prospero Teaching are looking to work with Psychology/ Sports students/graduates who are interested to work as a teaching assistants within mainstream and special schools in Chesterfield and surrounding areas. We are looking to work with students or graduates based in Chesterfield who are keen to work in child psychology, social work or sports therapy in the future. Schools I work closely with across the county require teaching assistants to work with schools on either a part or full time basis and we can also assist with your placement year as part of your course should you require. We have exciting opportunities working in schools as a SEND teaching assistant where you will do the following: You will be able to build relationships with pupils that need 1-1 support in the classroom. You will support their development, be in communication with the schools SENCO and build professional relationships with important staff that may be interested in building your career after graduating. You will also work alongside the main teacher following their lesson plans, leading 1-1 activities and following school policies in behaviour management. If you are looking to start your career in education whilst also utilising the skills you have developed in psychology or sport, then working as a SEND teaching assistant is an excellent place to start and you will be working with a broad range of SEND pupils including ASC, ADHD and SEMH pupils in a setting that suits your experience, needs and interests.
