About the Role:We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our committed team on a full-time basis from January 2025. This role will be dedicated to providing Phonics interventions for Key Stage 1 pupils, specifically Year 1 and Year 2 students who are tracking below expected progress. This fixed-term maternity cover position will run until July 2025.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored Phonics interventions to Key Stage 1 pupils, focusing on those who need additional support in meeting curriculum milestones.
  • Work closely with teachers to support students' learning in Phonics, especially using the Read Write Inc program.
  • Track and monitor the progress of pupils in intervention groups, adapting strategies as needed to maximise student outcomes.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all pupils in your care.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience working in Key Stage 1 is essential, with a solid understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and Phonics.
  • Knowledge of Read Write Inc Phonics would be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a small, dedicated team of education professionals.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young learners in achieving their potential.
