Teaching Assistant | S41 Chesterfield | £95- £105 | Long Term to Perm | ASAP

Are you an experienced teaching assistant seeking a new challenge in education? Long term futures are currently looking for a new AP teaching assistant to help one of our client alternative provisions in Chesterfield.

As a teaching assistant in a specialist school, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational journey of students who face various challenges, including social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. You will work closely with a diverse group of students, adapting your teaching methods to meet individual needs and promoting engagement through innovative and creative approaches.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Working side by side with the teacher to provide an alternative approach that is also stimulating for students with SEN needs including ASD & ADHD
  • Setting targets for students and monitoring progress,
  • Ensuring every student can access and reach their fullest potential
  • Helping students through any issues they have and coming to an appropriate solution

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Comfortable working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour.
  • Has an outgoing, nurturing personality.
  • Looking to start a career in education.
  • Willingness to support SEMH learners.
  • A reliable, friendly face to the children and staff.

To Be Eligible for This Role You Must:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last 2 years
