Sewell Wallis are recruiting for a Strategic Finance Director who can lead on the commercial side of this Manufacturing SME based in Chesterfield. You will be heavily involved with implementing strategic plans, carrying out acquisitions to push growth and thinking innovatively, and using insights and analysis to make crucial decisions on pricing, stock, labour, etc.

You will need to be a confident number one for the owner managed business, partnering with the managing directors to deliver results.

What will you be doing?

  • Preparing and presenting annual budgets, financial plans and business plans to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Business planning and forecasting, including due diligence on any acquisitions or initiatives for growth.
  • Analyse all financial performance and processes, identifying areas for improvement and potential cost cutting.
  • Identify and oversee financial risks, ensuring the business is safe from market fluctuations and threats.
  • Oversee corporate finance activities, including working capital management, hedging, and foreign currency strategies.
  • Ensuring the finance team's compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Act as a key point of contact for investors, shareholders, and funding partners, providing transparent and actionable financial data.

What skills are we looking for?

  • Must have experience with UK and international acquisitions, including integration afterwards.
  • Experience with due diligence and data room, ideally with end to end private equity deal experience.
  • Confident in negotiating and managing relationships with banks and investors.
  • Experience in setting up international entities.
  • Ideally, knowledge of US and EU tax laws.
  • You must be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
  • Experience in an SME Manufacturer would be beneficial, although not essential.
