2nd Line Support Engineer

We are recruiting a 2nd Line Support Engineer to work with our innovative Chesterfield based client. We’re seeking a 2nd Line Support Engineer with strong networking skills and hands-on experience in assembling and testing products.

This varied role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys both technical troubleshooting and practical, hands-on work.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support:

  • Provide 2nd line support: Resolve IT support issues including hardware, software, and networking problems
  • Network troubleshooting: Manage and troubleshoot network issues, including routers, switches, firewalls, and connectivity problems
  • System maintenance: Support the installation and configuration of new installations
  • Assemble electrical products: Build, assemble and configure a range of products and components to company specifications
  • Product testing: Conduct testing and quality control checks on assembled products to ensure functionality and adherence to safety standards
  • Collaboration with engineering teams: Work closely with the team to contribute to research and development of new products as well as internal improvements

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: experience at 2nd line level with exposure to networking and hands-on technical work.
  • Networking knowledge: Proficiency with network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, routers, switches, VPN, firewalls).
  • Hands-on technical skills: Experience with assembling, configuring, and testing electrical products or systems.
  • Hardware skills: Ability to diagnose, repair, and replace faulty hardware components.
  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve complex issues.
