Location: Chesterfield

Salary: £45,000 + 15% bonus

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quality Manager to join an established engineering business in Chesterfield.

This market leading company operates in a wide range of industries including aerospace, defence, automotive and transportation, employing over 4,500 people in 22 countries.

The successful candidate will ensure the company's quality management systems is maintained, updated as necessary and continually improves at the site. They will ensure the site retains and obtains all the necessary recognised quality / technical approvals. Including customer requirements, NADCAP, AS9100 and AS13100

Main responsibilities:

  • Ensure process and equipment complies with internal and external requirements
  • Ensure the understanding of internal and external requirements is flowed to all levels
  • Supervise the Quality and Inspection personnel, arrange training as necessary
  • Ensure that the site Quality and Inspection functions satisfy the business requirements
  • Ensure that the Contract review undertaken is effective and assist with the APQP
  • Customer Liaison, ensuring customers are notified if any issues or non-conformances occur. Ensure timely resolution of any customer complaints received.
  • Monitor vendor ratings and ensure supplier issues are resolved
  • Monitor the KPI data, liaise with site Management to resolve any problems that occur, to ensure that the site objectives are on target or action has been implemented to address any issues that may arise.
  • Keep the Regional Quality Manager informed of any issues arising.
  • Investigate all non-conformances to ensure the root cause is identified, corrective action implemented and its effectiveness reviewed
  • Produce reports as necessary
  • Use surveillance methods to ensure compliance and identify any deficiencies, implementing corrective action
  • Review root causes and effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Carry out system audits to identify any deficiencies, implementing corrective action
  • Modify or develop procedures as required to ensure quality requirements are met

Qualifications, experience and skills:

  • Experience as a Senior Quality Engineer or Quality Manager in a relevant industry
  • A working knowledge of NADCAP, AS9100 and AS13100
  • Good communication and time management skills are a must
  • Proactive can-do attitude with the willingness to overcome obstacles
  • good working knowledge of quality systems

Salary / package:

  • Pension - match contribution from 4% - 10%
  • Life Assurance – 2 x annual salary rising to 4x within Company pension
