Operations Manager

Salary range up to £50,000 (DOE) + benefits

Location: Chesterfield, North Derbyshire.

Do you have Operations Management experience, and are you looking for a new challenging opportunity in Chesterfield? Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping an established and well regarded manufacturing company recruit a modern lean thinking Operations Manager.

As Operations Manager, of this specialist manufacturing and supply business you will be responsible for leading and motivating an experienced team in the development and on time delivery of products for both UK and international clients. The position requires an in-depth understanding of lean manufacturing and more importantly a track record that demonstrates an ability to work with people, challenge tradition and create a sustainable continuous improvement culture. This role will report directly to the Managing Director and be part of a Senior Management Team tasked with delivering a programme of change and business transformation across the site.

As Operations Manager you will:

  • Ensure that all manufacturing operations and processes are carried out effectively and meet the company's high standards of Safety, Health and Environmental legislation.
  • Maintain, develop and continuously improve manufacturing capability and quality standards that will deliver against SQCPD targets that meet the requirements of the sites Quality Management System.
  • Create a high performance team based culture based on ownership and involvement, that is underpinned by the appropriate use of Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques.
  • Provide leadership, training and support to ensure that production capability and resources can achieve present and predicted future production requirements.

To apply for this Operations Manager position, you must be results-oriented with demonstrable experience of sustainable culture change that delivers productivity improvement and bottom line results.

You will also require the following:

  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills gained within a modern MRP/ERP, manufacturing environment certified to ISO9001 and ISO4001.
  • An ability to communicate effectively at all levels, with proven problem solving abilities.
  • Exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Significant production and people management experience with strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control and HSE compliance.
