About the Role:Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant (SENTA) to join a specialist primary school in Chesterfield. This is a full-time, permanent position, initially on Tradewind Recruitment timesheets before transitioning onto a direct school contract.

You will be supporting pupils across the primary key stages with a range of additional needs, including emotional, social, and behavioural challenges. Your role will involve working closely with teachers and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that meets the needs of all pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning.

  • Assist in implementing individual learning plans (ILPs) and behaviour management strategies.

  • Foster a supportive and nurturing classroom environment.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to enhance pupil development.

  • Support pupils in developing social skills and emotional resilience.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting pupils within primary key stages.

  • Previous experience working with children who have additional needs, particularly emotional, social, and behavioural challenges.

  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learning.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo vetting in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidelines).
