Senior Estimator - Heavy Civils
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: Up to £70,000 + Benefits
Are you an experienced Estimator with a background in civil engineering? This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established contractor in Chesterfield, where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering accurate and competitive bids for a variety of civil engineering schemes.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·Manage and coordinate all information for bids and tenders within the designated area.
·Research and assess materials, equipment, and labour costs to produce accurate estimates.
·Understand the client's requirements and tailor submissions to meet their needs.
·Source and analyse quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
·Develop job timescales and ensure accurate forecasting.
·Provide input on commercial risk and contribute to quality submissions.
·Prepare and submit quotations for work while supporting bids for new contracts.
·Monitor project stages to ensure costs align with forecasts.
·Clearly communicate the financial aspects of a tender during site handovers.
·Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental policies.
 
What You'll Need:
·A solid construction background and strong knowledge of estimating techniques.
·Experience working on civil engineering schemes for a main contractor.
·Proficiency with spreadsheets and data analysis tools.
·Strong communication skills and the ability to work flexibly under pressure.
·A proactive and ambitious mindset with a commitment to meeting strict deadlines.
·Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
