We're actively seeking a Contracts Manager to join our facilities management service.
Salary: £53,350 to £57,005 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week) Monday to Friday
Location: County Hall, West Street, Chichester, PO19 1RQ or Crawley Library, Southgate Ave, Crawley RH10 6HG or Bridge House , Barrington Rd, Goring-by-Sea, Worthing BN12 4SE or County Hall North, Madeira Ave, Horsham RH12 1AB (Hybrid and Flexible Working)

This role offers hybrid working arrangements. Your base location will be agreed in line with your preference and service need. You will be required to work from county council office buildings and make regular site visits, as well as the flexibility of home working as appropriate. Final arrangements to be confirmed with successful candidate.
You will need to be able to travel independently around the county, including to areas that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Pool cars and pool bikes available.
Our work in Facilities Management and any given day can often feel quite different from the next! There will be some key responsibilities likely to feature in this role, including:
- Thriving as a subject matter expert in Contracts Management.
- Strategically leading the delivery of Hard and Soft Facilities Management contracts.
- Providing maintenance services and asset management planning for County Council corporate buildings.
- Overseeing the delivery of capital maintenance projects across the WSCC estate and School's estate.
- Reporting to the Facilities Management Operations Manager.
- Accountable for a revenue budget of £5m and potential capital delivery projects of £6m a year.
- Focussing on tactical and strategic delivery of the Hard Facilities Management Contract.
- Line managing, mentoring, motivating, and supporting the Soft Facilities Management Contract Manager and their team.
About you
The successful candidate will be pivotal to ensuring West Sussex County Council provides a safe and fit for purpose-built environment for all staff and members of the public alike.
In order to achieve success in this role, you will need to have:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in Contract Management within Facilities Management industry.
- Valuable experience in delivering strategic and commercially sound advice.
- Excellent negotiation skills and can build strong working relationships
- Ability to influence colleagues, partners, and decision-makers.
- Proven leadership skills
- Strong communication skills
- A commitment to continuous improvement in Facilities Management service
- Pragmatic problem-solving abilities.
