You will work directly with the Growth team, who are a vital part of the Communities Directorate, passionately collaborating with teams across the council. We strive to build meaningful relationships with our District and Borough colleagues, along with key local partners, to improve outcomes for all our residents, focusing on town centre regeneration and the best use of the public estate.

Salary: £56,713 to £59,946 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week) Monday to Friday

Location: Crawley Library/or County Chichester including countywide travel and requirement to work from County Hall, West Street, Chichester, PO19 1RQ once per week (Hybrid and Flexible Working).

Interview Date: Week commencing 14 October 2024

This role offers hybrid working arrangements and will require you to work from county council office buildings and make regular visits to support allocated geographical areas as well as the flexibility of home working as appropriate. Final arrangements to be confirmed with successful candidate.

You will need to be able to travel independently around the county, including to areas that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Pool cars and pool bikes available.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated professional who can expertly manage and develop our Crawley Growth Programme and One Public Estates (OPE) partnership across West Sussex.

On a day-to-day basis, you will work across two programme areas in West Sussex. This will involve the oversite of key infrastructure projects and , making the best use of public assets through joined up approaches to asset occupation, use and regeneration. You will need to build relationships, manage stakeholders, manage resource and identifying future opportunities that will deliver meaningful economic benefits.

As a subject matter expert, you will passionately oversee the delivery of projects and programs, harnessing the right project management tools, reporting and partnership management to ensure success.

You will be responsible for managing a budget and contributing to financially related decisions on high level spending.

We are looking for someone with proven leadership skills and a desire to use these in influencing colleagues, partners, and decision-makers, as part of our mission to secure continuous improvement.

This role requires an individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as effective research, evaluation, and interpretation abilities to draw conclusions and develop business cases and funding proposals to secure investment.

You will have keen attention to detail, be comfortable working independently and be at ease in this fast-paced, agile environment with rapidly changing deadlines, workloads, and priorities.

You will be qualified to a post graduate level or have the equivalent level of significant experience. If you are a proactive leader with excellent communication and pragmatic problem-solving skills, we want to hear from you!
