Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Lecturer in Business at our Chichester campus. You will join us on a part-time, permanent basisand in return, we will offer a competitive salary of Pro rata of £26,189 - £40,839 (i.e. £13,094.50 - £20,419.50) per annum.

The Lecturer in Business role:

We are looking for a part-time lecturer to join our Business team, to teach a range of business modules on T levels in Accounting and Law (at our Chichester Campus) and Agriculture and Animal care (at our Brinsbury Campus)

Experience supporting students in an educational setting and working in a business environment is essential. Qualifications in Business or teacher training would be an advantage.

You plan for you to teach on Tuesdays at Brinsbury, and at Chichester on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Key Responsibilities of ourLecturer in Business:

  • Undertaking teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed.
  • Ensuring that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
  • Undertaking administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
  • Taking an active role in the achievement of high individual student retention and success rates, meeting or surpassing the relevant targets for each.
  • Develop curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration literacy and numeracy development, and equality and diversity.
  • Understanding personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding.
  • Keeping up-to-date with current issues, changes, and policies relating to the educational sector.
  • Participating in marketing activities and promote the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment.
  • Undertaking the delivery of literacy and numeracy.

Our ideal Lecturer in Business should have the below skills and experience:

  • Degree or Professional qualification in a Business related subject
  • Level 2 literacy and numeracy
  • A Certificate in Education or Post Graduate Certificate in Education
  • Commercial experience in Business
  • Teaching and assessing Business learners
  • Working within Further Education
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of Edexcel / T level Specifications
  • An understanding of safeguarding vulnerable groups
  • Time management skills, organisational skills and the ability to meet targets and deadlines
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing
