Communications & Marketing Lead

Good Afternoon,

I am currently representing West Sussex Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate of 240.29 which is negotiable dependent upon experience.

We are looking for a Communications and Marketing Lead this role will be: PO19 1RQ (15 Hours/Hybrid)

The right candidate will:

• We are seeking a Communications and Marketing Lead to join us to develop and deliver the communications and marketing strategy for the new West Sussex Economic Growth Board, and to oversee and advise on marketing activities associated with economic growth initiatives.
• To deliver a professional and accurate communications and marketing service for the West Sussex Economic Growth Board targeting a broad range of audiences including elected members, senior officers, senior personnel in partner organisations, wider stakeholders and regional and national organisations.
• Provide strategic advice and guidance to the Economic Development Managers on effective delivery of communications and marketing activity for the wider team and initiatives.
• Lead on strategic and day to day delivery of digital platforms, building digital engagement and digital marketing campaigns, Public Relations and partnership marketing.
• Procure and manage relationships with contractors, delivery partners and advertisers, where appropriate, to achieve the Communications and Marketing strategy.
• Contribute to, or lead as appropriate, new communications proposals by providing information about practical application.
• Advising on budgets related to the marketing workstreams of the WSEGB (marketing campaigns, public relations and web site) and on external communications contracts across the wider EGT.

We require the following:

• Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail with the ability to deliver a communications and marketing strategy across a wide range of public and private sector partners and communicate information which may be complex and contentious.
• Ability to provide strategic advice and guidance on communications and marketing functions to management by means of creative and pragmatic solutions.
• Ability to cost resources and advise on budgets in order to provide accurate and viable solutions which can be delivered within available resources.
• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in communications and / or marketing, or equivalent experience.
• Experience of working within a communications function, with evidence of having managed marketing strategies and campaigns, contractors, organisational reputation management and involvement with engagement activities.
