Sales Office Manager required in Chichester, for our client, a well-established manufacturer and distributor of chimney cowls and associated products including liners and flues. They have been trading for over 90 years and regarded as the market leader.

The Sales Office Manager will report directly to the Managing Director, and tasked with the following core responsibilities and deliverables;Administrative & Operational

  • Oversee daily operations to manage the day-to-day functions of the sales office, ensuring all processes run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Order processing with accurate and timely processing of customer orders, coordinating with warehouse and logistics to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Inventory management to monitor stock levels.
  • Assigning sales territories, setting quotas, assigning sales training, recruiting sales staff and building sales strategy plans.
  • Identify priorities and eliminate redundant activities to increase sales and efficiency.

Sales & Customer Service

  • Sales Support to the sales team, preparing reports, managing sales documentation, and handling customer enquiries.
  • Customer relationship management proactively maintaining and developing strong relationships with key customers that are either Building Merchants - Jewson, Toolstation & Travis Perkins. Trade Professionals - Chimney sweeps, stove or fire installers & Trade Distributors & Retail - Stove, Fire or Fireplace Showrooms.
  • Handle complaints to resolve any customer complaints or issues promptly and effectively.

Team Management

  • Develop and motivate the team, leading the sales office staff, including sales order processors and sales account managers.
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance, setting goals and objectives to drive productivity and efficiency.
  • To be an established and dependable number 2 to the Managing Director in the Colt Cowls trading division.

Market & Product Knowledge:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitors and develop an understanding of chimney cowls and associated products including flues, stoves, fireplaces and liners etc to support the sales team and customers.

The role will be based from the Head Office in Chichester, with occasional travel expected to visit customers and attend trade shows with advanced notice.

  • Proven background as a Sales Manager or Office Manager, preferably in the fast-moving consumer goods market.
  • Based within a commutable distance of Chichester.
  • Driving Licence

Sales Office Manager Position Remuneration

  • Basic Salary of £30-35K

  • Starting on 36 Days Holiday (Increasing by 1 day per calendar year to a max total of 40 days)
