Join a leading British supply chain solutions company with a heritage spanning almost 100 years. Our client is seeking an Accounting Assistant to manage fixed assets and support our finance team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, has a knack for problem-solving, and is currently pursuing an accounting qualification.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage fixed asset accounting including additions, disposals, and adjustments.
  • Handle capital expenditure reporting and back checks control.
  • Complete all relevant balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage fixed asset inbox queries and ensure timely resolution.
  • Support half-year and full-year statutory reporting requirements to aid the audit process.
  • Complete Office for National Statistics (ONS) returns and provide support to the wider finance team.
  • Drive continuous improvement and update standard operating procedures.
  • Engage in other accounting duties and projects as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working in an office environment, preferably within a finance team.
  • Currently studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/AAT).
  • Proven experience in completing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and manage competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills and a commitment to achieving collective goals.
  • Strong Excel skills and the ability to identify process improvements that deliver quality and efficiency benefits.
