Document Controller - Chippenham - 100m Newbuild - Ongoing
I'm working with a leading Tier One contractor with a balance sheet close to 500m and a turnover of approximately 1bn.
The company operates nationally, delivering major construction projects across multiple sectors, typically valued at 20m and above.
They are currently seeking a Document Controller to join their site team on a prestigious 100m newbuild project in Chippenham.
Key Responsibilities:
Document Management:
Manage the flow of all project documentation (drawings, contracts, reports, etc.).
Ensure documents are accurately filed, cataloged, and securely stored both digitally and physically.
Implement and maintain a document control system in line with company standards and specific project requirements.
Track document progress, ensuring timely updates and correct version control.
Coordination and Communication:
Serve as the central point of contact for all document control-related queries from project stakeholders including contractors, subcontractors, and consultants.
Assist in the preparation and distribution of documents across all relevant parties.
Ensure timely submission and circulation of all documentation according to project deadlines.
Compliance and Quality Control:
Ensure documentation complies with legal, regulatory, and contractual standards.
Maintain high standards of quality assurance within the document management process.
Reporting and Support:
Assist in compiling document control reports for senior project management.
Support the wider project team with document-related tasks and uphold document control best practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
Demonstrable experience as a Document Controller within the construction industry, ideally on major projects.
Proficiency with document control software such as Aconex, 4Projects, Procore, or similar platforms.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Solid understanding of construction document processes, standards, and regulations.
Capable of managing workload across multiple tasks and working to tight deadlines.
High attention to detail with problem-solving ability.
Desired Experience:
Previous experience on large-scale construction projects, ideally upwards of 20m+.
Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modelling) documentation workflows is advantageous.
