Our client, a well respected and forward-thinking large manufacturer is recruiting for an experienced Site Quality Manager to join their team.

The role

Reporting to the Multi-plants Quality Manager, the Site Quality Manager will work on-site in Wiltshire.

As the Site Quality Manager you will be responsible for ensuring development and proper application & deployment of quality activities and internal/external quality standards within the plant, working closely with relevant B&I stakeholders, suppliers, and customers to support operations delivering products and services right first time.

The focus of this role is the direct responsibility of the plant quality organisation and plant quality performance, the quality activities and quality standard processes application within the whole plant value chain, the internal and external plant quality representation, the applicable products and processes quality standards and certification compliance, the management and improvement of the quality management system, and the efficient management of quality issues and associated improvements.

The Role

  • Safety compliance for all quality related activities. Demonstrate active leadership for whole plant safety compliance and improvement.
  • Leading Overall Quality plant management (Quality team management 5 persons, competence management, recruit, budget, capex, Q processes application).
  • Plant Quality Representative (Plant management reviews, feedback/feedforward with team, Quality strategic plan, Quality KPIs monitoring (Cost of Poor Quality, CPPM, SPPM, internal defects, Claims, audits CAR/PAR).
  • Internal and external audits/certification management (Products) + relevant certificate(s).
  • ISO 9001 and Plant QMS (Process & internal external audits) management.
  • Management and improvement of the Quality Laboratories processes and activities, including accredited laboraties as appropriate.
  • Quality inputs for relevant projects/products development.
  • Quality and Control plan creation and implementation for new products/transferred products (including PFMEA realisation).
  • Systematic application and improvement of Quality activities in the plant (First part right, Capability management, hydra application, SPC monitoring, defect dictionary, QES maturity improvement, Quality KPIs monitoring and improvement, global quality processes, 8D).
  • Quality claims management and associated root cause analysis (8D/RCA).
  • Supplier quality performance monitoring/coordination.
  • Coaching site for proper deployment and usage of Quality and continuous improvement fundamentals: PDCA, Routines, escalations, Problems solving (8D/RCA), 5S, SMED, TPM, idea management (including best practices), support to Engineering Change Request & local product development implementation/industrialisation activity.
  • Work closely with plant CI leaders & plant managers to ensure CI standards implementation through coaching, training and project delivery support.

Th Successful Individual will have:

  • Master Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Typically, 3-5 years of experience in relevant role
  • Profound knowledge and experience of quality standards and quality checks.
  • Profound knowledge of our products and their acceptance criteria.
  • Profound knowledge and experience Quality methodologies (quality assurance and quality controls)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience postgraduate
  • Site quality or lab responsibility experience (ISO auditor preferred)
  • Problem-solving experience (6 Sigma green belt or equivalent preferred)
  • International working experience in an industrial organisation
  • A background in the automotive industry: Advantageous
  • A background in a 24/7 operational manufacturing site: Advantageous
