About the Role:

We are currently hiring for a Member Services Manager (Pensions) on behalf of a well-established organisation that oversees a large pension fund with assets in the billions. This role is ideal for an experienced pensions professional with strong leadership skills who can manage a team, ensure compliance, and improve service delivery for members and employers.

The role involves administering pensions for over 170 employer organisations, ensuring benefits are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with pension regulations and governance standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a key function and drive improvements in a high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the benefits administration team, ensuring efficient service delivery.
  • Oversee the payment of pension benefits, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex pension queries, providing expert guidance.
  • Ensure adherence to Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) regulations and other pension-related legislation.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Provide training and support to the team, ensuring a strong understanding of pension rules.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including scheme members and employers, to offer guidance and resolve issues.
  • Support the development of strategic projects and adapt to legislative changes.
  • Maintain compliance with The Pensions Regulator’s Code of Practice, mitigating financial and reputational risk.

About You:

Essential: ? Proven experience in pension administration and team leadership. ? Strong knowledge of LGPS regulations and pension-related legislation. ? Experience implementing process and system improvements. ? Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. ? Ability to interpret and explain complex pension rules clearly. ? Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Desirable: ? Experience using Altair pension administration systems. ? Understanding of government policies affecting pension schemes.
