I have been instructed to recruit a Receptionist / Administrator to join a respected school in Chippenham. This role is integral to supporting the development and welfare of pupils by managing a busy front office and providing essential administrative support.

Responsibilities and Duties to include:

  • Oversee reception, welcoming and directing visitors, managing the switchboard, and following school procedures.
  • Provide confidential secretarial services, including word processing and handling correspondence and reports.
  • Manage school administration systems (SIMS and ParentPay), dealing with registers, timetables, absences, and school meals.
  • Maintain and update pupil records, ensuring compliance with Data Protection regulations.
  • Organize the school diary, manage appointments, and liaise with the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Arrange supply staff, ensuring all employment checks and payment records are up to date.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong administrative and secretarial experience, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Proficiency in using IT systems (SIMS, ParentPay) and office software.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
