Treatment Plant Operator

Salary: £35,000 per annum
Location: Wiltshire
Working Hours: 4on4off, Days & Nights (06.00am-18.00pm / 18.00pm - 06.00am)

A leading company in the food production industry is seeking a dedicated Effluent Treatment Plant Operator to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to make significant contributions to the efficiency and sustainability of their operations.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain effluent treatment plant equipment, including daily checks, equipment inspection, cleaning, sampling, and testing.
• Monitor and control plant processes to ensure efficient operation.
• Perform routine and planned inspections and maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Manage waste handling and disposal.
• Conduct basic fault finding and escalate more serious faults as needed.
• Monitor plant parameters against set standards, adjusting operations to meet these while reporting any deviations.
• Ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date.
• Handle and restock chemical IBCs.
• Maintain daily housekeeping and upkeep of the plant.
• Perform ad hoc duties as required.

Qualifications / Experience:

• Previous experience as an effluent treatment plant operator or in a similar role.
• Experience with DAF clarifier operation.
• Proficiency in water testing and analysis.
• Mechanical knowledge and aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues.
• COSHH and pump repair/maintenance experience (desirable).
• Forklift Truck Certificate (desirable).
