Job Summary: The Sales Director will lead sales efforts targeting national and large housebuilders through regional offices, overseeing a dedicated team of 2-3 sales professionals. This role requires the development and execution of strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth, expand our customer base, and strengthen relationships with key clients. The Sales Director will report directly to the CFO and collaborate closely with other senior Directors to align sales strategies with overall business and group objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy Development:
    • Formulate and implement comprehensive sales strategies targeting national (regional offices) and housebuilders.
    • Set clear sales targets and objectives in alignment with growth plans.
  • Team Leadership and Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a sales team of 2-3 professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the national and large housebuilder segments.
  • Market Analysis and Business Development:
    • Conduct market research to stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to align sales and marketing strategies, enhancing lead generation and brand awareness.
  • Sales Operations and Reporting:
    • Oversee the development of sales plans, budgets, and forecasts.
    • Monitor and analyse sales metrics, preparing regular reports for senior management.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role within the construction or building materials industry.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing sales strategies that drive business growth.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.
