Your new company

Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a rapidly growing & well-established manufacturing business looking to appoint a hands-on & dynamic Finance Manager. A newly created growth role based in Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire. The role will report directly to the Financial Director & assistant in supervising/developing a small accounting team. A varied role which will be tailored around the right finance professional with development opportunities on offer. The position will include preparation of monthly management accounts, supporting budgeting processes, through to oversight of transactional processes, process improvement, financial analysis & more. Open to finance professionals who are qualified by experience or studying for a financial qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA).

Your new role

Your key duties will involve overseeing a small finance team providing mentorship & training support, assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial analysis and monitoring/reporting on cash flow trends. You will perform monthly bank & balance sheet reconciliations, support budgeting/forecasting activities, prepare/submit various HMRC returns, along with overseeing payroll & payment runs. You will work closely with the Financial Director to assist in implementing basic financial controls to reduce risk, assist with improving operational efficiency with accounting processes, & be involved in ad-hoc financial projects/duties to support business growth. The position will be tailored around the right finance professional, with future development opportunities if wanted.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on Finance Manager role, you will need experience in a similar position. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise & manage workloads effectively. You will have key communication skills to build both internal/external relationships at all levels, a hands-on & adaptable working approach, willing to learn & support business growth. Experience with financial systems, key MS excel skills, & ideally familiarity with working within a small/medium-sized organisation. You will be qualified by experience, AAT qualified or studying for CIMA/ACCA/ACA. Experience supervising/mentoring other team members, manufacturing sector background, & knowledge of Sage financial systems would be advantageous but not essential.
