We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Junior Cook to join one of our clients kitchen team in Chipping Norton. If you have a love for cooking and are eager to learn and grow in a kitchen environment, this role is perfect for you. As a Junior Cook, you will support the Head Chef and the kitchen staff in preparing and delivering high-quality meals while ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, peeling, and portioning.
- Follow recipes and instructions from the Head Chef to prepare a variety of dishes.
- Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards in terms of taste and presentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning equipment, and adhering to hygiene and safety regulations.
- Assist in stock control, ensuring that ingredients are fresh and appropriately stored.
- Support in the setup and breakdown of the kitchen for service.
- Work efficiently to meet deadlines and service times.
- Participate in training and development to enhance cooking skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work well in a team and take direction from senior staff.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality dishes.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in a kitchen setting is a plus but not essential.
