We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Junior Cook to join one of our clients kitchen team in Chipping Norton. If you have a love for cooking and are eager to learn and grow in a kitchen environment, this role is perfect for you. As a Junior Cook, you will support the Head Chef and the kitchen staff in preparing and delivering high-quality meals while ensuring a clean and organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, peeling, and portioning.
  • Follow recipes and instructions from the Head Chef to prepare a variety of dishes.
  • Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards in terms of taste and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning equipment, and adhering to hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Assist in stock control, ensuring that ingredients are fresh and appropriately stored.
  • Support in the setup and breakdown of the kitchen for service.
  • Work efficiently to meet deadlines and service times.
  • Participate in training and development to enhance cooking skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work well in a team and take direction from senior staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality dishes.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen setting is a plus but not essential.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability
  • 9am-5pm

Pay:

  • From £12.21-14/h
