Management Accountant

Search is working with a fantastic company based in Chorley. Our client is an award-winning construction company who have grown rapidly the past year and are looking to expand their finance team. This Management Accountant role is crucial to the company's progression and is a brand-new position

Responsibilities:
* Prepare and review monthly management accounts, ensuring everything is accurate and in line with accounting standards.
* Take charge of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to ensure effective financial planning and performance monitoring.
* Support the Head of Finance
* Help prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management and key stakeholders.
* Support financial decision-making by providing clear insights into financial performance, costs, and profitability.
* Monitor cash flow, reconcile accounts, and maintain financial records.
* Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across the business.
* Assist with year-end audits and work with external outsourcing to ensure a smooth process.
* Work closely with other departments, providing financial guidance to ensure we're all aligned with business goals.
* Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies.
Experience:
* 5 years of experience in a management accounting role, with a solid grasp of accounting principles and practices.
* Part/Fully Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, AAT, or equivalent) or QBE (Qualified by experience)
* Software such as Xero and Excel
* Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
* Excellent analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
* Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently to meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of financial regulations and best practices.
