Paying up to £40k + Benefits a leading property management firm based in Chorley, Lancashire are looking for a Service Charge Accountant to join their busy finance team. This is a full-time permanent job opportunity working 35 hours each week. The successful appointment can work 8am-4pm, 9am - 5pm, or 10am-6pm. The firm offers hybrid working with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
THE ROLEAs Service Charge Accountant you will be responsible for managing year-end service charge closures for a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, and retail properties. The position involves regular coordination with the accounts team, property managers, and external auditors to ensure service charge accounts meet RICS standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting year-end reconciliations of service charge accounts of various sizes and complexities, including handling large data sets
- Collaborating with internal accounting teams, property management, and auditors to deliver a high-quality client service
- Managing tasks such as reconciling data, monitoring deadlines, managing central inboxes, and ensuring service charge budgets are accurately processed
- Supporting the service charge team to meet internal and client KPIs
THE PERSON
- Previous experience of working in a similar service charge role is essential
- Effective communication, organisational, and numeracy skills; proactive, detail-oriented approach
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel
- No formal accounting qualifications required, but GCSEs in Math and English are essential
