The Opportunity

As Lead Design Engineer, you will play a key role within the engineering department, collaborating closely with project management and procurement teams. You will be responsible for ensuring that all product designs meet customer requirements, with a consistent focus on safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, and on-time delivery.

A central aspect of the role includes managing large composite models, equipment interfaces, and top-level assemblies. You will also drive standardisation across all stages of project execution.

Minimum Requirements:
  • HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering, alongside a recognised time-served apprenticeship.

  • Proven experience in a similar design role within bulk material handling.

  • Strong understanding of heavy engineering and bespoke engineered solutions for process plant design.

  • Familiarity with equipment such as belt and screw conveyors, elevators, screens, crushers, shredders, filtration, and pneumatic conveying systems.

  • Background in industries such as mineral, chemical, or food processing.

  • Knowledge of value engineering and continuous improvement processes.

  • Proficient in 3D design software (Solid Edge or Inventor; Tekla also considered).

  • Skilled in 2D design using AutoCAD.
