Installtion and Provisioning Engineer

Reporting into the Installation & Provisioning Manager, the Installation & Provisioning Engineer will be responsible for creating Planned Engineer Works (PEWS) for the active installation and commissioning team. You will be responsible for tracking and monitoring progress of a project and ensuring compliance. This role will be covering our Northwest network region and as such, there may be a requirement to travel or stay away overnight as and when required.

What you'll do:

  • Installation and termination of various cable types into cabinets
  • Passive and Active equipment installation, Cat5e and 6
  • Install Copper and Fibre cable up to 500 meters
  • Commissioning and testing
  • Good engineering knowledge of motorway communications technology
  • Installation and provisioning of motorway communication cabling to enable equipment to be commissioned to Highways Agency standards (MCX suite of drawings)
  • Installation and commissioning of Networking components including DWDM equipment, switches and routers.

Installation & Provisioning Engineer Key requirements:

  • Fibre Optic Splicing & Testing INT/EXT
  • City & Guilds Communications Cabling and Networks (3667) 01/02/03/04
  • Experience in carrying out fibre splicing and copper jointing
  • To build detailed knowledge of all equipment and systems being worked upon within by the New Works team on the Motorway Network
  • Full UK Driving licence
