The Accounts Assistant Job Role
The job as the Finance Assistant is a newly created role, due to an internal promotion and will interest an Accounts Assistant seeking a varied and challenging role within a stable & ambitious company. The Finance Assistant (Accounts Assistant) will be working in a friendly team and supporting the Group Financial Accounts Manager, taking responsibility for the reconciliation of all group bank accounts, credit card accounts, petty cash and general expenses. In addition you will have responsibility for the provision of cashflow information as well as so much more!
- Posting daily banking entries and ensure all banking discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
- Working closely with management, you will be responsible for the provision of cashflow information.
- Responsible for all bank, credit card and petty cash expense reconciliations.
- Preparing journals for banking, credit cards, petty cash, financing, and general expenses.
- A key part of the job is to ensure payments and expenses are posted correctly with reference to VAT.
- Improving processes and to enhance efficiencies.
- Update bank mandates.
- Collaboratively you will support others within the team.
- Assisting within the finance team for example purchase ledger and general accountancy duties, month end etc.
- Ad hoc project work!
The ideal Finance / Accounts Assistant
- Experience in preparing bank reconciliations
- General bookkeeping experience/knowledge
- Some experience in VAT
- Strong communication skills
- Able to work to deadlines
- Ambitious and keen to develop career
- You will have strong Excel skills as well as a good eye for detail
- Ideally keen to continue with AAT or ACCA/CIMA studies!
