This IT Assistant role will offer you the chance to shadow an experienced IT Manager, and in time, take on more responsibilities and progress within the company. With the role being customer facing, you’ll have the unique opportunity to speak with many vital people in the business and develop an in-depth understanding of what makes the business tick.

As IT Assistant, you will work with the Head of IT to provide 1st and 2nd line IT support for the Company. You 'll manage the service desk and be responsible for taking ownership of issues raised and follow these through to resolution, providing updates regularly to those which have reported the issue. To thrive in this role, you’ll need good communication skills to explain solutions clearly to both internal and external parties, you’ll need to be motivated, with a self-starting attitude and keen to learn new skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complying with all relevant Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
  • Being the first point of contact to troubleshoot and resolve IT support issues
  • Ensuring incidents are resolved efficiently while maintaining exceptional service and relationships
  • Working to tasks and deadlines
  • Updating existing software
  • Assisting the Head of IT where necessary
  • Actively encourage employees to use the Service Desk system to raise IT issues
  • Taking ownership of IT tickets within the Service Desk system
  • Keeping the Head of IT up to date with progress on IT tickets
  • Providing reports to the Head of IT on Updates/Backups and Antivirus for all Users

Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills
  • 1st and 2nd line experience in providing application, hardware and infrastructure support on a service desk or in an infrastructure related role
  • Cloud solutions (Microsoft 365 Admin Console and/or Azure)
