Mechanical Design Engineer

Initial 12 Month Contract

Hybrid - 3 days per week on site in Christchurch, Dorset

57.33 Per Hour (Umbrella Rate - Inside IR35)

The Role

  • Design and development of packaging & mounting arrangements for COTS.
  • Design of electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Producing part & GA drawings.
  • Peer reviews.
  • Designing for manufacture review.
  • Routing cables in 3D CAD.
  • Producing cable/harness assemblies and drawings.

The Candidate

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD packages such as Siemens NX or Solidworks.
  • Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices.
  • Experience of designing sheet metal, machined parts and assemblies.
  • A basic understanding of electronics (desirable)
  • FEA, CFD simulation experience (desirable)
  • Experience with designing for EMC compliance (desirable)
