Special needs teaching assistant

Zen Educate would like to appoint special needs teaching assistants in the Cirencester area for work in specialist provisions or mainstream schools on either a part time or full time basis. This will mostly be supporting students on a 1:1 basis although group work may be possible or expected from time to time. Working hours are 8:30-3:30, Monday to Friday and term time only.

We are interested in speaking with anyone that has previous school experience, or has experience in supporting special needs, either in another industry or perhaps personally via family.

As a special needs teaching assistant you will need to be a great team player, able to follow instructions laid out by the teacher and follow the education healthcare plan set out for the students. We are looking for people that are resilient to what can be at times difficult behaviours, resistance to learning and difficulties with their peers. The right people will be able to support students learning objectives but also their social development.

We need people that have great communication and can feedback on student progress to the teacher, any member of senior leadership and parents concerned. Since this is supporting vulnerable students, we are looking for applicants that can honour commitments and provide consistent and reliable support.
