Reed Food & FMCG have been briefed to recruit for a Specifications Technologist to join a Food Manufacturing business. This role is ideal for a highly motivated and energetic individual with a background in food manufacturing. You will be instrumental in managing and improving the site specifications system, ensuring compliance and supporting our technical standards.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage and continuously improve the site specifications system, encompassing everything from raw material and supplier assessment to finished products and customer enquiries.
  • Ensure legal and customer technical compliance.
  • Input and manage data on customer web portals and maintain accurate company database records.
  • Assess food safety of raw materials and products to ensure they are safe and legally compliant.
  • Conduct supplier and raw material integrity assessments, including ethical and sustainability evaluations.
  • Coordinate and prioritise personal workload effectively.
  • Assist with raw material and supplier approval processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • HND or Degree in Food Science preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, creating product specifications.
  • Familiarity with retailer standards is beneficial.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work well within a team and under pressure.
