Mental Health Teaching Assistant - SEMH Secondary School - Clevedon (BS21)

Our client, a small secondary SEMH school for girls based in Clevedon, are recruiting for a teaching assistant or higher level teaching assistant (HLTA) to support their pupils with a mixture of academic and practical/vocational subjects
- £90 - £110 per day, depending on experience
- Monday - Friday 0830 - 1530, term time only
- Full time, ongoing for the remainder of this academic year
- Clevedon, North Somerset (BS21)
- An easy commute from Bristol, Weston Super Mare - free parking on site
About the school
- A therapeutic school that has a tranquil environment, focused on student centred learning with an emphasis on mindfulness and wellbeing
- Capacity of up to 12 pupils, aged between 11 and 18 years and presenting with a range of complex social, emotional and mental health needs

What we're looking for from you
- Maths and English GCSE grade A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent
- Experience working with children - for example tutoring, coaching, mentoring, childcare, assisting in a nursery, or similar experience within a classroom.
- Confident to converse with parents, students and members of the public
- Resilient and confident to work with challenging behaviour
- For the higher pay scale, NVQ level 3 teaching assistant qualification or relevant alternative associated to a TA qualification
