About the Role

As a Treasury Management Officer, you'll play a vital role in managing the Council's treasury management function, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and maximising financial returns. Your expertise will contribute to delivering a robust Treasury Management Strategy and support the council's financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Council's treasury management function to minimise interest payments and maximise investment returns.
  • Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts and balance sheet projections.
  • Work closely with the Council's treasury advisors to ensure compliance with statutory codes and professional standards.
  • Appraise investment and borrowing options.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reports on treasury activity and prudential indicators.
  • Provide input for the Council's Statement of Accounts and manage treasury-related disclosures.
  • Administer the Council's insurance functions, ensuring adequate coverage and managing claims.

Essential Requirements:

  • AAT qualified (or equivalent).
  • Local authority accounting experience.
  • Experience managing organisational cash flow.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and financial software systems.
  • Treasury management experience.
  • Knowledge of the Prudential Code for Capital Finance.
