Information Governance Officer - Local Authority

Location: LE67 3FJ
Start date: ASAP
Contract duration: 3+ months
Working hours: Mon - Fri, 09:00 - 17:00, 36.25 hours per week
Pay rate: 17.47 per hour

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Carry out the end-to-end process for responding to Freedom of Information Act and Subject Access requests to ensure statutory deadlines are met.
  • Regular contact with other services, residents and elected members.
  • Supporting officers with Data Protection Impact Assessments.
  • Supporting ICT ensuring continued security of our information assets.
  • Supporting the Data Protection Officer and Legal Team where required.

Skills and experience:

  • Evidence of expertise in the field of Information Management and Freedom of Information.
  • Continued professional development to keep up to date with legislation changes e.g. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • Knowledge and understanding of the role of Local Government and the environment within which it operates.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent and bespoke IT software systems.
