About the Role:

As a Contracts Supervisor, you will assist the Planned Investment Manager in managing the delivery of improvement and planned maintenance projects for the Council's housing stock. Your role will involve site surveys, contract management, compliance monitoring, and stakeholder engagement to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and record various property surveys, including asbestos assessments, energy efficiency evaluations, and condition inspections.
  • Oversee and monitor planned/cyclical maintenance and improvement programmes.
  • Provide technical advice, prepare reports, and attend meetings as required.
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations and health & safety standards.
  • Liaise with residents, contractors, consultants, and statutory bodies.
  • Act as Clerk of Works and Client's Representative where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate site records and oversee financial aspects of contracts.
  • Respond to enquiries from councillors, MPs, and the public in a professional manner.

What We're Looking For:

  • ONC in Building Studies or CIH/CIB Level 4 Certificate in Housing Maintenance (or equivalent).
  • NEBOSH/IOSH Certificate in Managing Safety (or equivalent).
  • Property inspection and reporting in property maintenance or construction.
  • Experience in social housing improvements, planned and cyclical maintenance.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Understanding of contracts, specifications, and CDM regulations.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, calculate material quantities, and solve problems.
