The Business Development Manager at MML will be responsible for developing sales strategies, managing sales activities, and ensuring the achievement of financial targets, with a focus on the marine and offshore markets. They will lead the sales and marketing team, maintain customer relationships, and oversee contract negotiations while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and quality standards.

Description

  • Develop sales tactics, strategies & plans that are consistent with MML's overall business objectives.
  • Plan & direct MML's sales activities to achieve agreed targets and financial performance.
  • Create & maintain good customer relationships to help in the deliverance of sales.
  • Keeping track of new business opportunities within the marine / offshore markets.
  • Monitor sales staff performance to ensure efficient sales operations adhere to MML's policies & procedures.
  • Actively understand the impact of sales on profit & loss.
  • Act as the liaison between MML & customers ensuring the lines of communication are open & effective.
  • Oversee & direct the sales & marketing team, interacting with other team members & departments.

Profile

Essential Qualifications / Experience

  • Knowledge of principles & processes for providing customer products, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for products and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Experience of managing a sales and marketing team
  • Experience of reviewing contract details, negotiating terms and prices plus closing major contracts.
  • Previous sales experience required especially within the marine / offshore industry.
  • Knowledge & awareness of statutory, regulatory & legal requirements within the marine / offshore industry.
  • Knowledge & awareness of Quality Management Systems to ISO 9001 requirements, also incorporating relevant marine / offshore statutory, regulatory & legal requirements.
  • Knowledge & awareness of the Marine Equipment Directive.
