The Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s team, supporting the commercial management of a high-profile refurbishment project near Glasgow. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their skills under the guidance of experienced professionals, with exposure to projects valued over £20m.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the commercial team with all aspects of cost management and project control.
  • Assist in preparing tender documents and analysing submissions.
  • Help manage procurement processes and the appointment of subcontractors.
  • Assist in preparing valuations, applications for payment, and processing subcontractor accounts.
  • Support the monitoring and management of project variations and changes.
  • Contribute to detailed financial reporting, including cost/value reconciliations and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure the smooth delivery of works.
  • Actively develop your knowledge of contracts, processes, and commercial best practices.
What We’re Looking For
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or working towards one).
  • Previous experience in a main contracting environment
  • A willingness to learn and develop professionally within the role.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
