Management Accountant

  • Annual Salary: Day rate of circa £200 a day. (Salary equivalent £45,000- £50,000)
  • Location: Cobham, Surrey 
  • Hours: Flexible on full or part time- hybrid working 2 days in the office. 
  • Job Type: Full-time or part time, interim for 3 months initially, potentially longer. 

We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our team in a dynamic and supportive environment. This role is based in Cobham, Surrey, with the flexibility of hybrid working arrangements. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and analysing financial reports, managing accounts payable and receivable, and contributing to financial planning and budgeting.  My client is looking for someone ideally from a property background and they are happy to consider candidates on a full or part time, interim basis. 

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Management Accounts:
    • Produce month-end and year-end journals.
    • Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Conduct monthly variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and exception reporting.
    • Support the annual audit process.
    • Prepare, submit, and manage quarterly VAT returns.
    • Analyse aged debtors and creditors.
    • Evaluate and recommend improvements to financial information systems.
    • Act as a business partner for key finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable:
    • Manage the finance inbox to ensure all invoices are processed timely.
    • Set up new suppliers and manage weekly and one-off payment runs.
    • Reconcile supplier accounts and handle intercompany invoices and accruals.
    • Manage expenses by importing and exporting data between systems.
    • Raise and send quarterly invoices to customers.
    • Oversee credit control activities.
  • Reporting:
    • Provide monthly reporting packs to external investors in accordance with agreed KPIs.
    • Address and action any financial queries.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office.
  • Experience using XERO.
  • Experience working for a property company would be ideal.
  • Relevant qualifications in Accounting or Finance would be ideal.
