This is an excellent opportunity to work with a wide range of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and families, providing expert legal advice on all aspects of private client law.The RoleThis position will focus on private client services, managing a varied and challenging caseload. Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising clients on Wills, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Estate Administration, tailoring solutions to their specific needs.
  • Taking client instructions and executing them promptly, while maintaining regular communication through meetings, telephone, and email.
  • Managing workloads efficiently, maintaining accurate time records, and ensuring compliance with billing procedures and firm policies.
  • Reviewing and improving departmental systems, controls, and processes to adapt to changing service delivery requirements.
  • Meeting personal and team performance targets, including service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Staying up to date with regulations and maintaining professional competence through continuous professional development.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with clients and third parties while engaging in business development and networking activities.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior solicitors, trainees, paralegals, and support staff as needed.

The CandidateThe ideal candidate will possess:

  • Newly Qualified Solicitor status with strong experience in private client work.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Wills, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Estate Administration, with a desire to develop expertise in tax planning and STEP qualifications.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong client-facing skills with the ability to communicate complex legal matters in simple terms.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships and contribute to business development.
  • Strong drafting and negotiating skills, along with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in IT tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and case management systems.
