Join Our Team as a Housing Officer - Surrey

- Hours: Full Time
- Contract: Temporary (3 months, potential to expend)
- Pay Range: £12.50 - £17.50 per hour PAYE
Responsibilities
- Support residents in managing their tenancies, offering advice and resolving issues with empathy and professionalism.
- Point of contact for local residents
- Tackle tenancy challenges, such as antisocial behaviour, maintenance concerns, and tenancy fraud.
- Understand rent and service charges, assist in handling arrears, answer residents' queries.
- Advise on payment plans, and signpost for debt advice or finding grants and funding.
- Handle complaints efficiently, aiming for first-time resolution and continuous service improvement.
- Conduct estate inspections and ensure communal areas are safe, clean, and welcoming.
- Carry our settling in visits and tenancy review visits, carry out scheduled and ad hoc estate inspections
- Build strong relationships with residents, empowering them to take pride in their homes and neighbourhoods.
- Collaborate with local authorities and agencies to address community needs and enhance well-being.
An ideal Housing Officer will be/have:
- Housing experience working in a public or commercial setting
- A strong communicator who can engage with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of housing legislation and tenancy management is an advantage.
- A proactive, "can-do" attitude with a genuine desire to support residents.
- Experience in housing or community-focused roles is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent administration skills
- IT Literate with ability to analyse data
- Highly organised
- Strong attention to detail and able to prioritise workload
